The Honda Jazz has become the Japanese car maker Honda's
most selling car with 6,676 units of the Jazz being sold in comparison
to 5,180 of City. Honda has also seen an 18 per cent increase in sales
of all cars from July 2014. The car maker sold 15,709 cars in July 2014
and 18,606 cars in July 2015.
The Jazz had been a disappointment when it was launched by Honda for the first time in India as the car had not been able to garner admirers due to its immensely huge price tag but the Jazz's second outing in the Indian market looks completely different with the Jazz getting a new diesel engine and a competitive price tag.
Honda also managed to outsell Mahindra and Mahindra with only 14,556 cars of the Indian automobile major being sold in July.
The
Jazz features the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that is used in
the Honda City, but carries forward the 1.2-litre i-VTEC from its
previous model for the petrol version of the Jazz.
The Honda Jazz faces competition from the Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Suzuki Swift to become the best-selling premium hatchback of the country.
