Here's a list of upcoming Hero bikes & scooters to be launched in India.in 2015
Hero MotoCorp unveiled their first quarter-litre motorcycle, the HX250R, in early 2014 just before the Delhi Auto Expo. While a majority of motorcycles showcased by Hero MotoCorp at the biennial event were highly innovative and futuristic, the HX250R stuck to the traditional norms of motorcycling and seemed to be one of the most production-feasible motorcycles among the bunch.
The HX250R is powered by a four-stroke single cylinder liquid cooled 249cc engine that churns out 31bhp and peak torque of 26Nm. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with optimized ration selection. It is equipped with an advanced multi-sensor fuelling system to deliver optimal fuelling. The performance figures on paper sound good with a company claimed figure of 0-60 kmph in 2.7 secs. The bike features two modes – eco and power. Eco mode will give less performance and more fuel efficiency whereas the power mode gives the max performance.
Engine -249cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder
Power - 31bhp, 26Nm
Expected launch - Mid 2015
Expected price - Rs. 1.5 lakh - Rs. 2.0 lakh
Hero Hastur
The Hastur is built around a striking yellow trellis steel tube chassis with an aluminium sub frame, which extends into the swing arm and provides a raw appeal to the motorcycle. The huge sculpted tank complements the minimalist bodywork and blends in smoothly with the seat.
The Hastur is powered by a four-stroke 620cc parallel-twin engine producing 79bhp and 72Nm of torque. The liquid-cooled engine is mated to six-speed gearbox. With a kerb weight of just 160kgs, the engine is capable of propelling the Hastur to 240kmph, with the sprint to 100kmph taking just 3.8 seconds.
Other modern touches to the engine like the cartridge type transmission which enables efficient power transfer, controlled swirl injection and counter rotating crankshaft show clear influence of EBR technology in the Hastur. Ten-spoke alloy wheels carry Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres while braking is taken care of by four-pot radial-mount discs in the front and a single-piston disc at the rear.
The Hastur is equipped with twin projector beam headlamps with LED DRLs and LED tail lamps. It uses 43mm inverted forks in the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. The instrument cluster is made of a blue backlit TFT display which displays all the necessary information.
Rather than being a mass-selling product, the Hastur will be more of an image builder for the Delhi-based manufacturer. While the production version of the Hastur might not be as radical as the concept, we expect it to be quite different from the rest of Hero’s motorcycles. As the bike will be locally produced, we expect it to be priced very competitively in the Rs 5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh bracket against the Hyosung GT 650N and the Ducati Monster 695.
Engine - 620cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled
Power - 78bhp, 72Nm
Expected launch - Late 2015

Hero ZIR 150cc Scooter
Hero MotoCorp have launched new 150cc Scooter at Auto Expo 2014 in India. The Hero ZIR range comes in two variants: the flat floorboard model and a European style step thru model.
Hero ZIR is powered by Liquid Cooled, 4-Stroke 2 Valves OHC engine that produces the maximum power of 10.5 kW and torque of 12.7 Nm. It’s forced Dynamic Cooling Air System maintains an apt temperature of the liquid coolant during long high speed rides. The top speed of ZIR is 110 kmph.
In design, the ZIR has European-styled step seat, sporty front protection screen, dual projector lamps with day running lights, flower type disc plates, bright LED winkers and tail lamp, integrated pillion handle and a combo of digital – analog console.
Another utility is a socket for mobile phone charging and EFI system
will communicate with smart phone for all Engine / Riding information
through Ride-Stat app. Right now Android app is in testing but we chance
to get our hands on it. It’s really cool to record scooter data such as
Fuel Efficiency, Total Km, Trip meter, Throttle, Odometer, Power,
Torque, cost per km etc. Right now the app will be available for Android
but soon it will be available for iPhone, Windows Phone and BlackBerry.

The scooter is expected to be launched in other markets first before it makes its way to India, the markets where EVs and hybrids are in demand will be mainly targeted. If the Indian government makes any headway with the NEMMP (National Electric Mobility Mission Plan) 2020, Hero could look at being more aggressive in the segment here.
